Helping You Get to Know Your Home
Fox Home Check specializes in residential inspections. We go beyond simply identifying problems by helping homeowners and buyers understand underlying causes and potential solutions. This proactive approach helps our clients make better decisions about investing in their properties and creating long-term preservation plans to help build equity.
Western North Carolina is a unique environment that impacts houses differently than other parts of the country. Asheville gets between 30 and 40 inches of rain each year, and water is the most significant threat to your home. Preventing mold inside your house, and erosion-related structural problems outside your house, can be done with simple and inexpensive preventative measures that we can help identify. Additionally, many of the homes in this area were built over 40 years ago, meaning that home systems like electrical and HVAC may have been replaced or partially updated over time. Other elements of the house like decks and plumbing may have been subject to multiple unlicensed home renovationists whose shortcuts may not be readily apparent. We will be your eyes on these potential issues.
Whether it’s your first home, forever home, or a mountain retreat, we will help you fully understand your investment so that you and your realtor can secure a favorable outcome in your home purchase.
Residential Inspection Services
Buyers Inspections
Buying a home is one of the biggest investments you will ever make. As part of your home purchase due diligence, the home inspection will highlight safety issues, such as improper electrical wiring or deck structure deficiencies, as well as other items that could impact the value of the home, such as a furnace near the end of its service life or erosion that is causing the foundation to settle unevenly. This is our typical home inspection that catches common defects so you understand the investment you’re making.
Pre-Listing Inspections
Some homeowners want to make repairs to their house before they put it on the market, and a home inspection is one way to identify what repairs will most positively promote a home’s value. Sellers can also choose to provide a home inspection to potential buyers to show the condition of the home’s systems and structure, to entice buyers to take a closer look. Please understand that most buyers will still want to perform their own inspection even if the seller has already had an inspection done.
